ABOUT KIM

Creator of the 8Wise® Method.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent many years working in people development, organisational development and senior management roles within larger organisations and SMEs, including delivering projects in the UK and internationally.
That experience taught me something that continues to shape the way I work today: people rarely deal with just one thing at a time. Work, relationships, family, responsibilities, health, finances and significant life changes don't happen independently of one another.
Something happening in one part of our lives can affect how we think, feel, cope and function elsewhere.
I've also built and run my own businesses, managed people and carried significant professional responsibility. I understand how easily the boundaries between work, wider life and our own wellbeing can become blurred.
In 2017, I opened my private practice. I am an accredited psychotherapist with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).

My understanding of mental health and psychological wellbeing doesn't come only from professional training. I've also experienced periods in my own life when my mental health and wellbeing have been affected, including while working in senior leadership roles.
I know what it can be like to carry responsibility, continue functioning and appear to be managing while things underneath feel considerably less manageable. My experience isn't your experience, and I won't assume that it is.
But it has influenced the practitioner I have become and reinforced something I believe strongly:
You shouldn't have to wait until you're in crisis before getting support.

My professional experience, psychological training and personal understanding of the pressures of life contributed to the development of the 8Wise® Method.
8Wise® is a psychology-led framework for understanding and managing the psychological impact that life's challenges, changes and pressures can have on our wellbeing. It looks across eight interconnected dimensions of life, helping people understand what is happening across their internal and external worlds and where attention or change may be needed.
I've since developed 8Wise® into a wider body of practical tools, resources and educational programmes for individuals, workplaces and practitioners. It also informs aspects of my therapeutic coaching work where appropriate.

I bring psychological understanding, real-world experience and practical thinking into the room.
I'm interested not only in what you're experiencing, but in understanding what may be happening around it — the experiences, pressures, changes, relationships and circumstances that may be interacting with how you feel and function.
I won't assume I know what's right for you or expect you to fit into one predetermined way of working.
We'll start by understanding what's happening.
Then we can work out what might genuinely help.

Book a discovery call and tell me a little about what's happening and what you're looking for support with. You can ask questions, get a sense of how I work and decide whether I feel like the right person for you.
