People come to therapy for many different reasons, including:
Anxiety, worry and overthinking
Stress, overwhelm and burnout
Work-related stress and pressure
Career difficulties, decisions or change
Workplace relationships and conflict
Low mood or feeling unlike yourself
Confidence, self-esteem and self-doubt
Perfectionism and putting too much pressure on yourself
Relationships and family difficulties
Bereavement, loss and difficult life events
Experiences from the past that are still affecting you
Life transitions and uncertainty
Neurodivergence and understanding yourself
Feeling stuck or knowing something needs to change
Sometimes several things are happening at once.
Sometimes there isn't one obvious problem at all. You may still be functioning, working and looking after other people, while noticing that something doesn't feel right or that life has become increasingly difficult to manage.
You don't need to wait until things reach crisis point before seeking support.
There isn't one fixed way therapy has to look.
Depending on what you need, we might:
Understand patterns in how you think, feel, cope or respond.
Explore experiences, changes or situations that may be affecting you psychologically.
Consider how past experiences may be influencing what is happening now.
Look at relationships, boundaries and pressures across different areas of your life.
Develop practical ways of managing difficult thoughts, feelings or situations.
Understand what works for you, including where neurodivergence may be relevant.
Identify and work towards changes that could make life more manageable.
Where useful, I'll also suggest practical tools, reflection or things to try between sessions.
The aim isn't simply to talk about what's happening. It's to help you understand yourself and your experiences more clearly, work through what needs attention and develop ways of coping and moving forward that make sense for you.
The work is shaped around you — not the other way around.

Counselling and psychotherapy can overlap. You might want support with something happening now, or you may want to understand longer-standing experiences, psychological impact and patterns in greater depth.
Coaching tends to be more forward-focused, with greater emphasis on understanding what is happening now and using that insight to support change, decisions, development and action.
Real life doesn't always divide itself neatly between the two.
If you're unsure, that's exactly what we can talk about during a discovery call.
